From 2016, the best vintage of the decade in the Southern Rhone from 50 year old vines comes this delicious Lirac, a 92 point, exceptional value, everyday drinking wine.
A velvety and silky southern Rhône, jam packed with red fruits from just across the river to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A perfectly balanced and delicious, mid-bodied wine for easy drinking and great with a range of Moroccan, lamb and duck dishes. Not overly complex but fruity and delicious.

This delicious Lirac will pair well with many Moroccan dishes as well as lamb and duck.
VINTAGE AND WINEMAKING
2016 was a near perfect vintage in the Southern Rhone with Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rating it 98/100 and extraordinary. A mild winter and spring with plenty of warmth in the summer, the yield was great due to healthy grapes and the flavours exceptional.
The 2016 blend comprises 37% Cinsault, 36% Syrah with the balance being made up of Grenache and Mourvèdre and after fermentation the wine was aged in concrete vats for 10 months prior to bottling.
PRODUCER NOTES
Moulin De Chênes is a special place in Lirac. The 50 year old vines in the vineyard are set upon an alluvial plateau from the Rhône river’s old bed. This vegan and carbon neutral producer cuts no corners in the vineyard or winery in producing ecological and ethically sound wines that happen to be great value and delicious to boot.
