Climadiff wine cabinets are designed to be robust and reliable with many of their units benefitting from winter systems allowing storage of your wine in rooms that can fluctuate in temperature overnight or through winter or summer like a cellar, outbuilding, garage, sunroom or conservatory. Should I buy a Climadiff wine fridge with UV-protected glass or a solid door?
Climadiff specialises in wine cabinets for long-term wine ageing and as such, we are often asked if the attractive glass-fronted or solid doors are better protection from UV light. Both doors block and obscure UV light, the positive aspect of a solid door is that your wine is in total darkness, however, a negative is that you cannot showcase your wine or see your wine without opening the door. Generally, both doors will protect your wine over the longer term and it's just a question of aesthetics and personal taste as to whether to choose a glass door or a solid door, however, if visuals are unimportant, we would recommend the solid door as it's also the cheaper option as well as providing total darkness.

A winter system acts like a heater and should your ambient temperature drop due to a cold night or a cold spell in winter, a Climadiff wine cabinet with a winter system will kick in and protect your wine from temperature variability and of course, freezing!

Do I need a Climadiff wine cabinet or a wine FRIDGE?
Whether you need a Climadiff wine cooler or wine cabinet depends on your wine collection. If you have a large collection of young wines you want to age for decades, then a wine cabinet is the best choice. If you have a mixed collection of wines to cellar and wines to drink but still a large collection, then a wine cabinet with polyvalent technology that offers multiple temperature zones can be a smart choice with your wines. This allows for ageing wine in the middle and top of the cabinet, whilst the bottom can be used for your wines that are ready to drink (we recommend the excellent Climadiff Garde 200D for this purpose). If you have around one hundred bottles with a range of ages then a dual zone wine fridge would probably be a good option and for this purpose. Unless you need part of your wine cooler to be used for service then we always say that a single zone wine cooler will do the same job as the most impressive chateau cellar, indeed, they are designed to replicate those exact conditions. Set the single zone at 12ºC and reds, whites, champagnes and sweet wines will happily mature for years. Dual zone Climadiff wine fridges are popular for those who need a service section, have some wines that are ready to drink now, or prefer to cellar their wines at different temperatures.

A multi-zone wine cabinet with polyvalent technology, this wine cabinet is very adaptable with temperature zones of your choosing created by setting the temperature at the bottom of the wine cooler to differing levels, this changes the temperature composition throughout the entire cabinet. It also has the added benefit of being used entirely for storage if you turn the fans off. Your wines are enclosed behind a solid door protecting them from UV light.
