VINTAGE AND WINEMAKING

Manzanilla La Guita is a wine made from Palomino Fino grapes, from vineyards located in Pago de Miraflores, one of the most emblematic vineyards of Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

After the harvest and after a slight pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. Once the wine is selected (it must be clean on the nose, pale and light) it is fortified up to 15% vol. and it enters the "criaderas" and "soleras" system, going through a biological ageing with the cap of yeast (velo de flor) in these 516-litre American oak butts for more than 4 years.

PRODUCER NOTES

Dating back to 1852, La Guita is a legend of the Sherry scene in Sanlucar with one of the most impressive Solera. The vineyards that produce the Palomino grapes are famous not only for grape growing but also as the departure point from which Columbus and Magellan sailed west. The highest quality soils of DO Sherry, the Albariza Superior soils host the vines of La Guita, this coupled with their world class Solera system gives just two reasons why the Manzanilla of La Guita is considered one of the world's best.
