OVERVIEW
One of the most reliable Barbera d'Alba's in production today, Vietti's Tre Vigne grapes come from some of the most famous vineyards in the Piedmont including Monforte, Castiglione Falletto and La Morra. Plush and polished, this wine glides across the palate and is jam packed with fruit. Great typicity and our 'house' Barbera.

FOOD PAIRING INSPIRATION
A simple homemade pizza or tomato based pasta dish is the perfect accompaniment to this Barbera.
VINTAGE AND WINEMAKING
The 2019 vintage was declared 'classic & traditional' by the Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato. A higher quality yield than 2018 or 2017 but a significantly lower yield by around 15%.
The grapes are selected from vineyards located in Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d’Alba, La Morra in the Langhe region.
Alcoholic fermentation lasts around 2 weeks and takes place in stainless steel tanks. Ageing takes place over one year between barrique, big casks and stainless steel tanks.
PRODUCER NOTES
One of the most important and well known producers in the Piedmont, Vietti are trendsetters who are partially responsible for the success of the region today thanks to their focus on single vineyard wines back in the 1950's.
The first Vietti labelled vintage was released in 1919 although the family had been involved in winemaking for generations prior to that. Farmers, grape growing was only a percentage of the family income.
In 1952, Alfredo Currado (Luciana Vietti’s husband) decided to focus the wine production on quality and started making single vineyards wines and increasing the production level in the vineyard and winery. This focus on quality allowed the Vietti winery to grow into one of the top-level producers in Piemonte and was one of the first wineries to export its products to the US. His focus on single vineyard was copied by most Barolo and Barbaresco producers today and is the reason single vineyard wines exist today.
