Regardless of height or depth, 600mm (60cm) wide wine coolers are actually 59.5cm in width to allow for air circulation around the unit. During your search for a wine cooler you have probably noticed that some are labelled ‘freestanding’ and some are labelled ‘built-in’. Freestanding units should not be built in to kitchen carpentry as they need 2-3 inches of space around them to vent, without this the unit would overheat.
